Do the dead people feel the passage of time? How does the time pass quickly for the dead? Do they know how long have you remained?

Do the dead people feel the passage of time? How does the time pass quickly for the dead? Do they know how long have you remained?

O sheikh, I love you for the sake of Allah.

an Imam of a mosque said:

That the messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) said: “The period that a believer stays in his grave after death, Allah makes it short for him as if it was a period of Zuhur or `Asr Prayer.

May Allah whom you loved us for his sake loves you.

And we ask Allah the Almighty, to make us love each other for his sake.

You should know that time passes quickly for the dead.

It passes as of it is nothing.

Allah caused a man to die for a hundred years, and when he resurrected him,

Allah asked him: how long have you remained?

What did he say?

He said : “I have remained a day or part of a day”, while he remained for a hundred years.

And the people of the cave, they remained in their cave for three hundred years and exceeded by nine, sleeping.

And sleep is different than death.

Time during death passes quicker than sleep.

And those who died for millions of years

Time for them passes as if it was nothing.

As if they died just now.

But he who are in a delightful life after death, for him time will pass much faster.

But he who in torment -we ask Allah to protect us- time slows down for him.

And it will be much longer.

Which is something that we can experience in this life.

That’s why Ibn Khaldun who is considered to be one of the wisest historians.

Says: “the times of security, and prosperity passes quickly, but the times of hunger, wars, and trials are long”

Which is true.

So, my brother I say: all those who are buried

When the day of judgment comes, they will feel as though they had not remained in their grave except for an afternoon or a morning thereof

That’s why the Muslims{then} will say: “O woe to us! Who has raised us up from our sleeping place?”

As if they were sleeping

So, the final answer, may Allah bless you

I don’t know whether this Hadith is authentic or not

But I tell you that time passes very quickly, even quicker than a blink of an eye.
