Severing Ties with Relatives…

The results, dear brothers!

We already talked about the results of keeping good relations with relatives.

But the result of breaking ties with relatives, and enmity towards relatives lead to affliction and misfortune.

You would be a loser no matter the result was.

Severing the ties of kinship is among the major sins and disgraceful misdeeds.

The one who perpetrates this action is subject to curse and distress.

Fade ties between relatives is a sign of having troubles in life and Hereafter and hastening the punishment.

Jubair bin Mut’am narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said as narrated by Al-Bukhari and Muslim:

“The one who severs the ties of kinship will not enter Paradise.”

“The one who severs the ties of kinship will not enter Paradise.”

The punishment will be faced in life and Hereafter.

Abu Bakr reported that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said,

“There is no wrong action more likely to bring punishment in this world in addition to what is prepared for him (its doer) in the Hereafter than oppression and severing ties of kinship.” (Al-Tirmidthi)

So, these two misdeeds bring about punishment in this worldly life before the Hereafter.

Brothers and sisters, breaking the ties of kinship causes humiliation, weakness and division.

It is a reason of grief and sorrow. The one who breaks the ties of kinship is not even expected to observe brotherhood or sincere friendship.

He feels that Allah has severed His relationship with him.

And becomes humiliated no matter how people respect him.

The Companions of the Prophet (may Allah be pleased with them) were refraining from setting with the one who cuts his ties of kinship
