God says,

They consider it a favor to you that they have accepted Islam. Say, “Do not consider your Islam a favor to me. Rather, Allah has conferred favor upon you that He has guided you to the faith, if you should be truthful.” (Al-Hujurat 49:17)

Guidance to the true and sound faith is the best blessing that God may confer upon a person. Almighty Allah has maintained in the Qur’an that Islam, His last message to mankind, is a great blessing indeed. Allah says,

This day I have perfected for you your religion and completed My favor upon you and have approved for you Islam as religion. (Al-Ma’idah 5:3)

Almighty Allah has perfected this religion and made it a lasting guidance message for people that illustrates for them the purpose of their existence in this life and draws up practical guidelines for leading a sound life. Those who have not been blessed with this Favor of God go astray in this life because they miss the sacred goal of their life. They know nothing about the afterlife, the Paradise, the unseen world, the angels, etc. and what God has created and predestined. They surely miss the sense of security and tranquility that God instills in the hearts of those who believed in Him and shrouds them with His kindness, mercy, protection and help.
