“And when it is said to them, ‘Do not cause corruption on the earth,’ they say, ‘We are but reformers’.” (Al-Baqarah 2:11)

It is true that the greatest type of corruption is corruption of faith

To corrupt one’s religion

To make them believe in delusions for which Allah has sent down no authority

To make them believe in wrong interpretations of the Qur’an

To tell them about fictitious tales and baseless stories in the religion

To bring them around values that has nothing to do with Islam

Therefore, if you listen to a hypocrite; to his false speech

You find all his assumptions, goals, his bases and proofs are all faulty

Irreligious, illegal

He is constantly swayed by other people’s thoughts and words

They have no restrictions

“And when it is said to them, ‘Do not cause corruption on the earth,” (Al-Baqarah 2:11)

Completely blind to right guidance

“they say, ‘We are but reformers’.” (Al-Baqarah 2:11)

So, brother, the hypocrite strives for corruption and mischief

For driving a wedge between people; severing that which Allah has ordered to be joined

They strive to alter the nature of the thing

Allah (Exalted be He) miraculously described the disbelievers as

“Those who hinder (people) from the path of Allah and seek to make it deviant” (Al-A`raf 5:44)

Therefore, one of the key characteristics of the believer is reform

They are correcting what the people have corrupted

The most beloved ones to the Prophet (peace be upon him) at the end of time are those who correct what the people have corrupted

So, if you ask me about the key characteristic of the believers:

Conciliating between people, drawing near to one another, uniting people, good advice, mercy, fairness and justice

And if you ask me about the key characteristic of the hypocrite: corrupting

Surely under the guise of, for example, establishing a huge gambling club worth million

To generate billions in revenue, they say

They worship money

So, for them anything that would bring money is reform

An interest which is based on obedience

They invite you to it

The hypocrite directs his endeavor to corruption

Corrupting the young men by deceiving them; ha! You can earn easy money

Work is worship, Isn’t it?

They advocate all kinds of corruption

Work is worship, Isn’t it?

Corruption is an all-inclusive characteristic of the hypocrite

no matter where they are

Even his looks are malicious

Their clothes lack modesty

whether they are a man or a woman

“And when it is said to them, ‘Do not cause corruption on the earth,’ they say, ‘We are but reformers’.” (Al-Baqarah 2:11)

For them anything that would bring money or pleasure is reform

“And when it is said to them, ‘Do not cause corruption on the earth,’ they say, ‘We are but reformers’ “They, certainly, are the mischief makers, but they do not perceive.” (Al-Baqarah 2:11-12)

Deep inside he knows he is a corrupter; but maybe he is unaware of the dangerous outcomes of his deed

“Verily We shall give life to the dead, and We record that which they send before and that which they leave behind.” (Ya-Sin 36:12)

For example,

When someone demoralizes a young girl, he knows inside that he perverted the nature that God had given her

Maybe she was a faithful wife and loving mother

By demoralizing her, he perverted the nature that God had given her and made a deviant person out of her

He is unaware that after one hundred years this would have brought a generation of deviant girl into this world

This is what meant by the verse: “Verily We shall give life to the dead, and We record that which they send before and that which they leave behind.” (Ya-Sin 36:12)

If one knows about the disastrous consequences of his deed, he would be terrified

He will be called to account for all this

When man produces a bad practice, he will bear its burden and the burden of those who acted on it till the Day of Resurrection
